More or less

So obviously one of my resolutions was not to blog more or daily or at all. Or if it was I’ve failed miserably.  I felt compelled to post something before the month is over, so here it is. Maybe someday I’ll play catch up on Christmas, but since it’s almost Feb and birthdays are about to start, it might be awhile.

So far this month, I’ve been dealing with sick kiddos, who have so kindly passed their germs onto me. I’ve been debating about what to do about next year’s schooling for the girl. And rethinking everything about scouts. So, lots of thinking, not much deciding.

Oh, and we celebrated anniversary #11 last week. Time flies super fast when kids show up doesn’t it? We went to a movie tavern, where you order from a menu and eat a full meal during the movie. That was a cool experience. And the movie was really good. I’m not a heights person, and Mission Impossible 4, scared the heck out of me. There’s a lot of extremely high up crazy stunts. I was so worried Tom was going to fall off the tallest building in the world. But thankfully he survived ;) We finished with ice cream sandwiches to calm my nerves.

Hope January has been good to you. Have you broken your resolutions yet? I decided not to make any, so I’m golden.

Later gators!

Spidey who?

Christmas #2 tonight! Cousins!

And Uncle Mikey of course!

The girls

The Spideys! This gift was a winner! :)

We missed you Andrew! Come see us!

That guy!

Just look at some of the places we have found Whimsy since he’s arrived!

He brought a stack of gifts and a note one moring.

And a few days later, he brought us new stockings! Aren’t they cute?

Getting a little too cozy with Barbie?

Look closely at the faces. That guy!

Abe Lincoln and Rudolf?

Candy diving! Sweet ;)

Peek a boo!

Whimsy, Whimsy!

Where will he be next?

Come on now.

I don’t know what’s going on with me lately. Worse than usual, I’ve been queen of procrastination.

~Cookie swap, up til 1 am night before.

~Christmas cards, in my possession for weeks before they were touched. *Bonus points for actually having them in my possession though, right?

~Presents. And the wrapping of them. We have a skinny tree, so once a few are under there, it’s full. I don’t wanna have to rearrange.

~My BFF asked me to proof a resume days ago. On the list. I promise I will Em!

~Sleeping. Not going to bed because I can’t stop pinning.

~Blogs. I haven’t read my fave blogs since September! Because I can’t stop pinning.

~All those craft supplies I had to hurry up and buy for the pins I’ve pinned. Waiting in the closet.

~Not playing with the 3 yr old. Because I’m pinning activities for us to do together. of course.

~Clothes. In bags to be donated. Sitting in my closet. Not to be confused with the closet full of craft supplies.

~Cleaning house. Just before company shows up is the correct time to get started throw it in the extra room and shut the door, right?

I thought I’d have a short list off the top of my head, but this is quite a list. Slacker. I have learned that lists on my phone are not helpful. Things get forgotten or not crossed off. Or ignored.

In my defense I have been suffering with feet issues, including, but not limited to a broken bone; sickness-me, myself, child 1 and child 2 and as I type the hubs too; and an extreme tiredness factor to top the fun off. Excuses. Going to the doctor again next week. I wish just one of them could figure me out. I’ve turned into the old lady who’s highlight of the week is the trip to the doc. For the past 6 weeks I’ve had an appt with one doctor or another every single week. And I’m not better yet. Working on it, but I’m going to blame my slackeritis on all that. Trying to get myself all fixed up before the new year. 2012 is going to be a better one for me, starting with a new mantra of “let it go.”  It was pointed out recently that I’ve been stewing on things more than usual so that’s one aspect of my recent weeks that I can actually do something about. Don’t be surprised if you come over and find motivational posters all over the house. And then I’ll tell you all about my aches and pains. Baby steps. Baby steps. :)

Happy Wednesday to you!

#1

Celebrated our first Christmas of the year tonight with J’s parents.

Happy, happy girl! Don’t you love it when you ask for something months in advance and then forget about it? Such a jackpot gift to open! :)

This boy will only smile for me when I tell him NOT to.

And that pretty much sums him up! :)

How were we blessed with such cuties?

Merry Christmas y’all!

Movin on up!

Miss K earner her Yellow belt today!

Gift exchange gift exchange!

I love presents. And I love mail. And I happened to stumble on a way to get both.

Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous organized this and apparently has done several others too. You sign up and she sends you your partner’s email and address. You chat with your partner to find out what they like, make something for them and they do the same for you. How fun is that?

My partner sent me a pic of her fave color schemes, so I tried to match when I made these for her.

A family subway art and coasters. I hope she loves it. Can’t wait to get my gift! :)

** Update**

I got my gift! And it’s very cool.

It’s a wall hanging! Looks great in my kitchen! There are clips on the lower half for pictures, calendars, anything.

So fun. If you get the chance to do one of these exchanges, do it!

Whimsy

Surprise! Whimsy the elf showed up last night. Look what he did to our table. Isn’t it pretty? He did get a little crazy with the marshmallows. Kyle was happy to clean those little guys up. Pretty sure that’s all he ate for breakfast. ;)

He even brought breakfast straight from Mrs. Claus!

First drink from a real Christmas mug. Serious business.

And snow-covered donuts for everyone too!

He’ll be watching. Wonder where he’ll turn up next ?

What happened to November?

Where did this month go? It flew by faster than usual. As you can see, my blogging suffered. I’ll try to recap.

Actually, I have to start with October. Hang on for the ride.

I’ve helped organize a mom’s club at church for kids up to age 5. We’ve played on playgrounds around town, had a “decorate a pumpkin” party and created turkeys and candy corn “corn on the cobs” so far. Having a good time with our group of moms. Busy, busy.

***

We traveled south for a birthday party for Jason’s “Nanny.” It was a surprise party and I think she had a blast. What a great lady!

Four generations.

The party was in a gym with this rock climbing wall in the back. K would never have attempted this prior to taekwondo. Yay for her!

We camped. Our 2nd experience with our girls. This time we stayed the whole weekend. It was the weekend before Halloween so there was a “boo-tique” to make body wash and lip gloss, a trick or swap, and we celebrated 100 years of Girl Scouts with a candlelight ceremony.

There was tree climbing.

Relay races with  M&Ms. Look at that focus!

It was a super cold weekend, but our girls had a great time.

***

Halloween dinner- Mummy dogs, goblin guts, bloody punch – with a side of toxic waste for dipping. Frightfully delicious!

Spidey and the zebra

Watch out- he’ll “web” you!

Spidey was ready to trick or treat every night for a week after Halloween. He’s all about ringing door bells for candy. It was a fun night, we all had a good time. Love that he is getting old enough for more independence and fun times!

Pumpkin Patch?

Pumpkin Patch?

I just love this picture. Check out his expression.
My of-course-I’ll-pose-for-you girl and my what-is-this-and-why-am-I-holding-it boy.

Who doesn’t love the pumpkin patch?
