This and that January 28, 2010
A little January recap for a someday scrapbook or two.
~Kyle says Katie now. It’s pretty darn cute. It’s usually more like Kay Kay than Katie. So sweet!
~Kyle had his first pb&j and seemed to dig it. He also LOVES peanuts. Plain ol’ peanuts.
~Some days, this is what we do while Daddy is at work
~Katie has been tying her own shoes now for a few weeks. Milestone!
~Katie knows how to sew a button on. We’ll be hiring her out now. She says sewing is fun. Hmm…
~Katie has learned a few magic tricks. Did you know magicians always have red on the inside of their capes?
First the magic chick trick. This is supposed to be a picture of an empty hat, but she was moving really fast. And before your very eyes a chick appears from the hat. You might ask, how does she do it? A magician never tells her secrets she said. She can also do a coin trick.
~And if that isn’t enough, she can walk on water.
Our pool froze for a couple days. She said she was like Jesus!
New day January 18, 2010
Tomorrow’s a new one. I told myself that Monday and Tuesday of this week were so bad that Wednesday would be my new weigh day. Well, Wednesday through today didn’t go so well either. SO, here we go again. Tomorrow is Monday. The only opened Girl Scout cookies are Shortbreads. I can do this.
Yay me! January 18, 2010
I took the Property and Casualty Insurance Agent test today. And PASSED! Woohoo! I wasn’t sure how it was going to go even though I had studied a lot. It’s a lot of material to learn. So I’ll be a licensed agent every once in a while when I’m needed at the office.
Really I’m just glad to have that test out of the way. It’s been hanging over my head for a few months. Now I can read. I’ve really been looking forward to having time to read and maybe even stay awake to do it. I’d been putting some books off until after this test. Any title suggestions anyone?
Seeing Purple January 18, 2010
Kyle appears to have the same coordination skills as the rest of us.
His first black eye. It really could be worse, but it’s definitely purple. He was carrying a toy, dropped it and then fell on top of it. It’s talent.
While I was trying to get pictures, I got these two. I guess the angle is just right that you can’t see the purple eyelid. But isn’t he just the cutest thing ever?
Yes, a haircut is in his future. When it’s not spiked up, Jason says he looks like he’s got a combover. Too bad it’s not Halloween and he could be Donald Trump.
Day 2 January 12, 2010
I was hoping it’d be a breeze, this counting points at home. I guess, technically, it’s easy to count. It’s just the numbers are going too high. It could be that these Girl Scout Cookies are everywhere and calling my name. Seriously. If I can just get a few good days going, life will be easier. Day 1 and a 1/2 has not gone like I’d planned. But I’m still journaling and I’ll get there. Back to bootcamp tonight. And I walked to pick up K from school, so that’s something right?
Oh my… January 9, 2010
I’ve turned into a hermit. Well, sorta. I was worried about this staying home thing because I am not a person who stays home all day happily. There’s just usually always somewhere to go. Until now. I’ve only left the house for school drop off and pick up and to pick up my last paycheck. And I’m OK WITH THAT! It does help that it’s frigid outside and there is no where worth going when you’re alone with a tired 15 month old. But, I am surprised, and happy with myself. I’ve been cooking- even lunch for myself. NOT the norm for me at all.
I have done nothing much productive at home, other than taking down Christmas decorations and cooking. Oh, and I’ve cleared off some tivo room. I am sure at some point I will run out of things to watch and have nothing left to do but, oh, clean. Probably at that point I will find somewhere I have to be out of the house. This poor house has been severely neglected for a long, long time. And one day I will find the desire to bring it back to life. It just didn’t happen this week.
Monday is THE day, internet, I’m starting Weight Watchers again. Only 25 weeks until MAUI!!!!! I’ve also been neglecting myself. Somehow it is possible that I’ve been doing bootcamp 3 times a week since August and have lost nothing. So, here we go. 1.5 lbs a week average would be perfect. I am ready to become points obsessed again. It is time.
15 months old January 7, 2010
My guy is 15 months old now. We went for a check up so I thought I’d post about him in case I someday get around to making a scrapbook for the little man.
25.8 lbs ~~~ 32.5 inches
Right now you:
~wave bye bye and love to go, you bring us your shoes and socks when we ask
~say mama, dada, hi, Kyle, eyes, ears, something that sounds like I do it or Andrew (we’re not sure which-this is funny because you are not a big fan of Andrew), uh-oh and will repeat many words too
~are cuddly and love to give big hugs
~have a temper already, and have a tendency throw yourself down on the floor for a pity party
~hate to get out of the bath, I think you’d be happy to stay there all day long and splash
~LOVE LOVE LOVE to play with keys, you even locked yourself in the car at walmart last month, it was a little traumatic for all 4 of us, and if we have to take them away from you to drive, you get very upset
~spend a lot of the day putting things in and taking things out, big plastic bowls, pitchers, cups, are your faves right now, you got a wagon from Santa but I guess you haven’t discovered just how much you can fill it up and dump yet
~you just can’t stand it when music comes on, you MUST dance, just like your sister, commercials, radio, movie credits, anything, you aren’t picky you’ve just gotta move, and it’s pretty adorable
~you love to ROAR and scream and for someone to roar back at you, loudly
~you are the typical toddler who loves to throw his cup and say uh-oh and wait for us to pick it up. over and over and over
~you know where your ears, eyes and nose are
Other than the tantrums, you’re a pretty fun little guy to hang out with!
Watching the Aggies play football with Daddy.
